Jasandra Nyker
Jasandra Nyker brings over 27 years of unparalleled expertise in private equity, renewable energy, and climate-focused investment strategies. Recognized globally for her strategic vision and operational excellence, Jasandra has successfully driven transformational growth and delivered impactful results in diverse markets, particularly across the Global South.
Having started her career in banking and private equity in South Africa and then the UK, Jasandra pivoted towards the energy transition sector post-MBA at London Business School. She has since played pivotal roles in shaping and executing investment strategies for groundbreaking initiatives.
Notable achievements include:
- Transformational Leadership: As CEO of BioTherm Energy, she redefined a struggling business into a leading clean energy platform across Africa, delivering significant exits for shareholders through two exits.
- Scaling Innovation Globally: At Nala Renewables, Jasandra transformed a concept into a fully scaled global renewable energy investment company, developing 3.4GW of solar, storage and wind pipeline assets across 12 countries within three years.
- Trailblazing Investment Expertise: From managing one of the first clean energy funds in the Middle East for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to deploying $680 million via PCG Clean Energy & Technology Fund, Jasandra has led the scaling of clean technology businesses and unlocking value.
Jasandra is currently the Managing Partner at Saja Climate Partners, where she continues to catalyze transformational investments in energy transition projects (either as advisor or investor), with a focus on the Global South. She also advises the World Economic Forum on its Responsible Renewables Infrastructure Initiative, further showcasing her thought leadership in sustainable development.
Throughout her career, Jasandra has championed diversity, building multicultural teams, and mentoring future leaders in energy and climate technology. A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (Class of 2012), she combines strategic acumen with a passion for impact, aligning economic growth with environmental stewardship. In 2024, she was recognised as a GITEX Impact Leader as well as Fin-Erth’s inaugural cohort of 101 Women in Climate.
Jasandra’s boardroom experience spans listed entities and strategic advisory roles, emphasizing ESG governance, risk management, and global expansion. Her influence extends beyond business, contributing to grassroots initiatives for marginalised communities in impact-driven economies such as Nepal.
A lifelong learner, Jasandra holds a degree in Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from London Business School, with executive education from Harvard and MIT in global public policy and sustainable leadership.
