Salim Amin

Salim Amin is a filmmaker and entrepreneur who has built on his father’s legacy while forging his own path. Taking over Camerapix in 1996 after his father’s untimely death, he transformed it into a major media voice in 21st-century Africa.
Continuing his father’s commitment to storytelling, Salim founded Africa 24 Media to highlight positive African stories and established the Mohamed Amin Foundation to educate Africa’s youth. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and one of New African Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Africans, he was also invited to President Obama’s 2010 summit on Presidential Entrepreneurship.
As a producer, Salim’s work includes the acclaimed documentaries Mo & Me, Revisiting Korem, and The Sound Man. He also created The Scoop, a series reaching over 300 million viewers, featuring Africa’s top voices in arts, culture, and finance.
In 2019, he published KENYA: Through My Father’s Eyes, a coffee-table book incorporating Augmented Reality. Since 2020, he has been documenting Kenya’s history and leading the construction of the country’s largest history museum, calling his work a “conservation of history.” Camerapix also collaborates with the Duncan Entertainment Group to preserve thousands of hours of historical footage from Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia.
